I had Norton antivirus installed when I first got my laptop, but my subscription expired quite some time ago but I was never able to uninstall it from my computer (and my university provides me with a free subscription to McAfee). I just ran a virus/malware scan and removed some things that were affecting my computer, and when it rebooted I started getting these popups from Symantec (connected to Norton) saying “Your email to whoever@wherever was unable to be sent because…” I got tons of them, definitely over 100. The help site for the messages said it was Norton stopping the emails from being sent because they were spam. Thing is, I don’t use Outlook Express, nor do I have an email even set up with it. So where exactly did these emails attempt to be sent from? I have Hotmail and Gmail accounts, would it be from there? Or would it have been from Outlook Express? I know if I click an email address on a website (like a “Click here to mail whoever” link), Outlook Express opens up a new message thing, but I’ve never sent anything from it because I didn’t think I had an email address there.
Any help greatly appreciated.
